Michael Setzer, Vice President of Veolia, is CEO of the Nassau County bus system responsible for Veolia's contract with Nassau County. Mr. Setzer has more than three decades of municipal transportation experience, having previously served as General Manager of large bus systems for Cincinnati, Minneapolis and St. Louis.

He has had numerous significant achievements in the field of municipal transportation, including building and commissioning the first light rail operation in Minneapolis, creating the first paratransit system in St. Louis, and twice receiving the industry Innovation Award from the American Public Transportation Association.

Mike is looking forward to working with the County, bus system employees and the riding public to identify ways to improve the system saving taxpayer dollars. He has a track record of impeccable integrity, positive employee relations and balancing quality and efficiency. He understands the pivotal role that public transportation plays in the lives of people and is dedicated to making the best possible choices now, to emerge from these tough financial times with an even stronger and more robust transportation network in the county.

Roger has managed major public transit systems in Denver and at Foothill Transit outside of Los Angeles. At Foothill, he transitioned the service from public to a public-private partnership, and built the organization into a nationally recognized leader in innovation and efficiency. Roger is an entrepreneur by nature having started a transit organization in the Netherlands.

Roger is a leader who establishes expectations, ensures his people have the tools to successfully meet those expectations, and holds people accountable. He is passionate about passenger care and customer service and is very much looking forward to improving your experience as a Nassau County bus or paratransit rider. He is devoted to his employees and looking forward to building a culture where people are motivated to deliver excellent customer service, focus on safety, and have a genuine sense of mutual care and respect.

Roger knows where to look to find savings and efficiencies, without compromising on quality, and knows how to turn these savings into reality, - skills that are very important at this time in Nassau County's history.
