We hope you will join NICE as we celebrate Long Island’s 8th Annual Car Free Day on Friday, September 25, 2020!
Car Free Day is an international celebration in over 2,500 cities across 50 countries where people are encouraged to leave their cars at home – and instead ride sustainable transportation options such as a train, bus or bicycle, carpool with others, take the subway, walk or telecommute.
International Car Free Day celebrates the common goal of taking cars off the road to promote alternative transportation modes to increase mobility awareness, reduce traffic, conserve energy, reduce harmful emissions, reduce parking problems, and even save money!
It’s easy to participate! Simply take the Car Free Day Pledge by filling out this form and commit to taking an alternative form of mobility on September 25, 2020. By taking the pledge, you will be eligible to win great prizes! Those already using alternative transportation modes, such as bicycles, transit, teleworking, and carpooling, can still pledge and get a chance to win prizes.
All pledges made through 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday, September 25, will be entered into the prize raffle drawing. Prize eligibility is available to those physically living or working on Long Island in Nassau or Suffolk counties.
